Updates and Shipping Tips from Hot Shot Delivery

More Than Just Flowers and Candy

Happy Valentine’s Day! If that sentence caught you off guard, there’s good news: It’s not too late to make your sweetheart’s day. Hot Shot is no stranger to last-minute delivery requests for Godiva chocolates, red roses and other traditional Valentine’s Day items. But why not do something a bit more unique? Here are some outside-the-box Valentine’s Day gift ideas that can still be delivered in time.

  • Not every honey has a sweet tooth. Instead of chocolates, why not send over a basket of fresh fruit from the local market?
  • Is your Valentine under the weather? Send him or her a care package of tea, chicken soup and tissues. Even these everyday items can be romantic when hand-delivered.
  • Your Valentine’s gift should be given today, but it can be enjoyed later. Surprise your special someone with a gift certificate to one of their favorite stores.
  • Add the element of surprise. Pretend you’ve totally forgotten to make plans for a Valentine’s Day dinner — then open the door for a delicious delivery from your favorite restaurant.

Hot Shot can arrange the logistics of even complex Valentine’s Day deliveries. Call 713.869.7575 from the comfort of your home or office, and avoid being in the dog house later.

Lions, Tigers and Bears! Hot Shot Tips Its Hat to Zoo Delivery

Thursday, June 28th, 2012

At Hot Shot, we treasure the opportunity to deliver your packages. We revel in the challenge of taking difficult deliveries and making them happen. With us, your package goes where you need it, when you need it. Sometimes, that can make all the difference in the world to your business… or to rows of cages full of hungry hippos.

The Houston Zoo receives food every day. And thankfully so. That food keeps the animals alive and happy. Employees at the zoo are used to bringing pounds of supplies and properly feeding the animals, a difficult task if a delivery goes awry.

In addition to making the animals happier, this also contributes to the well-being of the employees. An overly hungry lion with no food on the way is probably not the easiest creature to deal with. On time food delivery protects the employees and ensures the health of the animals. And as a Houston courier company with a thing for important delivery, we tip our hats to the local zoo.

Houston Zoo Fun Facts:
• Three rhinos eat an average of 400 bales of hay each year.
• The 2011 food cost for rhinos at the Houston Zoo was $5000.
• Zookeepers feed animals a variety of recipes, specialized for their diets.
• Animal commissary employees work 365 days every year. Even animals need Christmas dinner.

Keep your tires aired up, May is National Bike Month!

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012

Hot Shot Delivery has lived up to its name by delivering packages quickly and with incredible service. Part of our secret is to listen carefully to the needs of our customers, then use the right delivery method to meet those needs. Depending where you need your package to be and what time you need it to get there, we complete your delivery.

Sometimes you need a truck.

Other times, you need a plane.

But some of the most important deliveries are made not by truck or by plane, but by bicycle.

Bike couriers are an excellent way to send a Hot Shot, short notice delivery through downtown. When it comes to a sensitive deadline, a bike is sometimes the only way to save the day. If you need something transferred quickly and carefully across a short distance, our bike deliveries save you precious time by taking the best route.

May is National Bike Month, so we’re saluting our couriers and the bikes they ride by pedaling a few extra miles. We encourage you to do the same. Meanwhile, keep us in mind if you need something cycled from Point A to Point B.

Mother’s Day is Coming: Send Mom a Hot Shot

Tuesday, May 8th, 2012

Deliveries go to important people every day. We should know, because we deliver the packages. If we had to pick the most important people we deliver packages to though, we would pick someone who everyone knows and loves:

And if you love Mom, then you know that you pretty soon you need to get her something for Mother’s Day.

But Moms can be tough to shop for. Some Moms just want a meal they didn’t prepare and a nap, something you may not be able to provide them with. In that case, the least you can do is get them something nice and send it on time.

Even that can be a Herculean task. There are an estimated 85.4 million Moms in the United States. We’re willing to bet that of that many mothers, there must be more than a few getting packages leading up to Mother’s Day.

And of those more than a few, we’re guessing plenty don’t get delivered on time. Or at all.

We promise you this much: If you decide to deliver with Hot Shot this Mother’s Day, we’ll make sure to keep Mom happy. We pride ourselves on delivering packages on time, intact, and in the last minute if you need it, something that can come in handy when it comes to something as important as showing gratitude to the most important woman in your life.

So this year, you worry about picking out a gift. We’ll worry about making sure she gets it.

Don’t be LATE

Monday, February 13th, 2012

It’s February again, and if you haven’t noticed, the air is heavy with love (or is that humidity?) and the card aisles at your local convenience store are full of red, heart-shaped boxes. Stuffed animals and balloons overrun the front part of the store. Everyone’s got a sweet tooth.

And the romantic poetry is starting to get a little annoying if you ask me.

Even so, Hot Shot is here to help you keep your honey happy, even if it means racing across town with candy and bracelets. Remember: The only thing worse than forgetting to send something for Valentine’s Day is sending melted chocolates, flattened cupcakes and mangled jewelry.

Sadly, not every delivery service takes as much care as we do. YouTube is packed to the brim with videos of delivery men playing football, hockey, and some yet to be discovered action sports with fragile packages (at Hotshot, we call those “horror movies”). As for timeliness… let’s just say there are some deliveries from the 1980s that have yet to be received.

To be fair, some YouTube deliveries are also above and beyond the call of Valentine’s Day sweetness, featuring bears delivering chocolate and candy to hardworking librarians, like these guys:

Anyway, it doesn’t take Cupid to know that Valentine’s Day is a can’t-miss delivery holiday, when the difference between sending and missing your delivery is the difference between a lovely evening with your darling and a night on the couch… or the front stoop.

And if you made the incredible, jaw-dropping mistake of failing to prepare in advance for the holiday- shame on you, by the way- keep in mind that Hot Shot does same-day delivery, so we can get your package to its destination in less than two hours.

In other words, we can save Valentine’s Day, and you can spend the day writing love notes instead of an apology letter.

But why wait for it to get that close? Schedule your delivery now and put your mind at ease. We don’t miss and we’re not late, so with your confirmation in hand (or email box), all you have to do is find a decent restaurant that won’t cost you a million bucks for a table on February 14th.
