Mother’s Day is Coming: Send Mom a Hot Shot

Tuesday, May 8th, 2012

Deliveries go to important people every day. We should know, because we deliver the packages. If we had to pick the most important people we deliver packages to though, we would pick someone who everyone knows and loves:

Mom.

And if you love Mom, then you know that you pretty soon you need to get her something for Mother’s Day.

But Moms can be tough to shop for. Some Moms just want a meal they didn’t prepare and a nap, something you may not be able to provide them with. In that case, the least you can do is get them something nice and send it on time.

Even that can be a Herculean task. There are an estimated 85.4 million Moms in the United States. We’re willing to bet that of that many mothers, there must be more than a few getting packages leading up to Mother’s Day.

And of those more than a few, we’re guessing plenty don’t get delivered on time. Or at all.

We promise you this much: If you decide to deliver with Hot Shot this Mother’s Day, we’ll make sure to keep Mom happy. We pride ourselves on delivering packages on time, intact, and in the last minute if you need it, something that can come in handy when it comes to something as important as showing gratitude to the most important woman in your life.

So this year, you worry about picking out a gift. We’ll worry about making sure she gets it.

The Longest Delivery Ever (At Least as Far as Pizza’s Concerned)

Monday, April 30th, 2012

Some deliveries are made just for the purpose of making them. Just one of those deliveries took place between June 28th and July 1st, 2006, when Paul Fenech traveled just over 12,346 miles from Opera Pizza in Wellington New Zealand to Madrid, Spain to hand deliver a pizza.

Unless he had a heck of a warmer, we’re guessing it was cold when it got there.

We don’t usually deliver pizza because we don’t make the stuff. We also don’t send our own delivery personnel across the world. But we can get your package en route to somewhere a few thousand miles away in a matter of moments. Hot Shot’s next flight out delivery service is dependable, consistent, and most importantly, fast.

And when you need to deliver something more important than pizza, that’s important.

So the next time you need to get a pizza from Houston to New York, contact us to get it on the next flight out. Just don’t expect it to be hot when it gets there.

Storage Saves Lives: Hot Shot Disaster Delivery

Friday, March 16th, 2012

Couriers take their jobs seriously. We know that delivering your package on time can have a broad range of positive effects, from keeping your grandmother happy to assisting people facing incredible hardship.  Last month, we spoke a little about the importance of on-time medical supply delivery. But delivery service is also an essential way to assist others during natural disasters, such as the tornadoes that took lives and leveled homes in Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio earlier this year.

When storms and other destructive weather-related events strike, shipment becomes a top priority. Shipping organizations are invaluable because they are capable of coordinating the movement of necessary supplies like food, water, medicine and shelter to victims of these devastating events.

Storage can be of great assistance, too. Hot Shot Delivery helps one particular client store Mobile Communication Towers that are deployed via weather balloons. These devices are useful in situations where towers are absent or have been rendered useless by a natural or man-made disaster such as forest fires and terrorist attacks. Their mobile communication towers are stored in our warehouse, as well as strategically throughout our logistics network where they can be mobilized instantly when a situation arises. Getting these devices to the scene of an emergency in the quickest, most efficient way is what Hot Shot Delivery lives for.

In preparation for hurricane season, Hot Shot has the capacity to store emergency relief supplies and generators in trailers around the city giving rescue/relief workers almost immediate access to supplies if a storm should make landfall in our area.

Disasters are tragedies. Delivery and storage logistics are some of the best ways to help prepare for uncertainty when emergencies strike. As shipping and delivery methods become more advanced, so too will the disaster response methods that save lives, rebuild countries, and make the world a better place. Hot Shot aims to continue to be part of the solution.
